Intercoms & buzzers for Brooklyn buildings

This is what we do most. If the panel is dead, one apartment never rings or the door will not let people in, we trace it from the street panel to the unit upstairs and fix what actually failed.

Why intercoms fail

Entry panels live outdoors, so water gets in and buttons wear out. Inside, wires get cut during repainting and units get pulled off the wall. We check each stage in turn: the button at the panel, the wiring, the handset in the apartment and the release at the door. Most of the time one part is at fault, and only that part needs replacing.

Video, audio or something simpler

A video panel is useful when tenants want to see who is at the door, and a basic audio system is plenty for a small house. Which one makes sense depends on how many apartments there are, what wiring is already in the walls and who will be using it. We lay the options out on the visit and you choose.

Around East Williamsburg and nearby

Many of our calls are walk-ups near the Montrose Avenue L stop, converted lofts in Williamsburg and Bushwick, and rowhouses in Greenpoint that were split into a few apartments. They all use different systems and have different problems, which is why we diagnose first and quote after.

  • Video and audio entry panels and apartment handsets
  • Buzzer repair, one line or the whole panel
  • Door release strikes and magnetic locks
  • Existing wiring reused where possible
  • Clear price on site before any work
  • Brownstones, walk-ups, lofts and small offices

Common questions

How do I know whether to repair or replace the panel?

If the buttons, speaker and wiring are mostly sound, repair is cheaper. If the panel is corroded or parts are no longer made, replacing it is the better spend. We tell you which it is.

Can you install a video system in a small building?

Yes. Small buildings are a regular job, from a few apartments up. We check the wiring and tell you what is needed.

Will tenants lose entry during the work?

We plan so the street door stays usable, or we tell you in advance if it cannot be.

Buzzer dead? Door not releasing?

Call any hour. Tell us the problem. We give you a clear price on site.
