Rekeying & lock changes

New apartment, new tenant, lost keys, or a set you never got back from a contractor.

Rekeying changes what key works in a lock without replacing the lock. It is the faster, cheaper option when the hardware is still in good shape. We can set several doors to one key, or give each door its own and keep a single owner key that opens all of them.

  • Rekey after a move, a sale or a tenant leaving
  • One key for several doors, or separate keys with an owner key
  • Deadbolt and knob replacement in a matching finish
  • New keys cut on site

Brands we work with

  • Schlage
  • Kwikset
  • Yale
  • Baldwin
  • Arrow
  • Medeco

Common questions

Is rekeying cheaper than new locks?

Usually, yes. You keep the hardware and only the inside of the cylinder changes. If a lock is too worn to rekey, we tell you.

Can one key open all my doors?

Yes. Setting several locks to the same key is a normal job.

I just moved in. Rekey or replace?

Rekey, so no old key still works. Replace only the locks that are damaged or loose.
